In 2021, 14.8% of the City of Perth’s population nominated Chinese as one of their ancestries compared to 5.3% in Greater Perth.
While the City of Perth had a relatively higher proportion of people with Chinese descent, it is important to note that this varied across the City. Proportions ranged from a low of 5.3% in Perth Metropolitan Area to a high of 21.4% in Crawley. The five areas with the highest percentages were:
- Crawley (21.4%)
- East Perth (Waterbank) (19.3%)
- Crawley – Nedlands (19.3%)
- UWA-QEII Precinct Plan (18.8%)
- Nedlands (17.9%)
